Just days before V16 beacons become compulsory on all vehicles in Spain, the DGT has withdrawn approval for four models.
The DGT (the Directorate General of Traffic) has confirmed that the V16 devices affected are from:
- Don Feliz
- The Boutique For Your Car
- Ikrea
- Call SOS
The decision comes after the administrative certificates for these models expired.
Although these products will no longer be sold in shops, drivers who purchased them before 1 January 2026 can still use them. The beacons fully meet the technical standards required to replace traditional warning triangles.
Importantly, the withdrawal is due to manufacturers not renewing their licences, not because of any technical issues with the beacons themselves.
According to the consumer association FACUA, V16 beacons bought before the certificate expiration comply with all necessary safety specifications. This ensures ensures drivers remain legal and safely equipped on Spanish roads.
