Are you looking for a bit of fun? Santa Pola and Gran Alacant will be getting into the Carnival spirit on 12 and 13 February. Enjoy costumes, parades and plenty of carnival fun.

The poster for the Carnival in Santa Pola. Carnival celebrations will take place over two days, with events in Santa Pola town centre and in Gran Alacant. There is something for everyone, whether you prefer feathers, face paint, or just watching from a safe distance!

In Santa Pola, things kick off on Thursday, 12 February at 17.30 with a street parade starting at La Glorieta.

The route will wind its way along Calle Elche, Calle Victoria and Calle Santa Isabel before looping back to La Glorieta and finishing at the municipal marquee next to the Castle Fortress. From 18.30, it’s time for the traditional fancy dress competition.

Carnival fun in Santa Pola: Competition time

Anyone planning to enter the fancy dress competition can register in advance at the Casa de Cultura on 10 and 11 February. There will also be the chance to sign up at the marquee on the afternoon of the 12th.

Carnival fun then moves to Gran Alacant on Friday, 13 February. Festivities begin at 11.30 at the International Library, with a Carnival-themed workshop, a shared lunch and a small parade around the municipal buildings on Avenida de Escandinavia.
