Eva Longoria has been opening up about her life in Spain, and it sounds very familiar to anyone who has swapped a fast-paced life for something a bit more relaxed.

Life in Spain might feel a world away from Hollywood, but it seems the slower Spanish lifestyle is winning fans in high places too.

Slowing down, Spanish style

The actress, who splits her time between Spain and Mexico with her husband José Bastón and their young son, says one of the biggest adjustments has been learning to slow down.

After years of living and working in Los Angeles, where everything tends to run at full speed, Spain has offered a completely different rhythm.

Her biggest takeaway is that people here actually take time to enjoy life.

A lifestyle many will recognise

Eva Longoria also points out something else that will sound familiar to anyone living here. The ease of everyday life.

Less traffic, more walking, and a general sense that things are not quite as hectic. Depending on where you are based, that slower pace can be one of the biggest perks of living in Spain.

For her, it fits perfectly with a more balanced way of living, something she says was harder to find back in the US.

Family life in Spain

It is not just her enjoying the change.

Her son has settled into life in Spain, making friends, going to school and getting stuck into everyday routines. It is the kind of experience many expat families aim for when they make the move.

What she still misses

Of course, it is not all perfect.

Like many expats, she admits there are things she misses. Family back home is top of the list, along with something a bit more specific. Proper Mexican food.

Why it resonates

While her Marbella lifestyle might be more glamorous than most, the reasons she enjoys Spain are actually pretty relatable.

A slower pace, time to enjoy meals, a better work-life balance and space for family life. It is exactly what draws so many people to the country in the first place.

And judging by her comments, once you get used to it, it is not easy to go back.
