On 2 May, Pego will host the 42nd edition of its Volta a Peu, one of the longest-running races in the Marina Alta area.
Organisers expect more than 1,000 runners this year, as the popular local race continues to grow.
To start the day, children’s races take place from 16:30, with categories for all ages, including the youngest participants. This early programme helps set a lively atmosphere around the town.

Later on, the main race begins at 19:00. It follows a familiar route that blends town streets with quieter sections on the outskirts.
In total, runners cover around 4km through the centre.
After that, the course heads towards areas such as Sant Antoni and Socarrades before looping back.
Importantly, both the start and finish lines are located at Passeig Cervantes, which makes the event easy to follow for spectators.
Last year, around 1,000 runners took part. As a result, organisers are hoping to exceed that figure this time.
Finally, at the finish line, participants receive refreshments along with a selection of local products, adding a well-earned reward to the end of the race.
