A new large-scale motorhome camping park project could soon transform Valverde in Elche as demand for alternative tourism and camper travel continues to grow across the Costa Blanca.
Cantabrian company Bidaivan Camper Park SL plans to build a three-star camper area specifically for motorhomes and caravans, with space for up to 157 vehicles and a maximum capacity of 471 guests.
The development would occupy nearly 20,000 square metres in Valverde Bajo, one of Elche’s rural districts.
Demand for camper tourism continues to rise
The project highlights the growing popularity of camping and motorhome tourism across Alicante province, especially among European travellers seeking nature, flexibility and affordable alternatives to traditional hotels.
The planned camper park would feature:
- 157 motorhome parking plots
- Swimming pool
- Bar and terrace
- Reception building
- Outdoor gym
- Petanca courts
- Children’s play area
- Landscaped green zones
Developers also plan to add water refill stations, grey and black water disposal points, recycling facilities and composting systems.
Sustainability plays a central role
The proposal aims to integrate the site into the surrounding rural landscape while limiting permanent construction.
Developers plan to use lightweight prefabricated wooden structures to reduce environmental impact.
The plans also include solar-powered LED lighting and sustainable water treatment systems.
Landscaping would incorporate Mediterranean vegetation such as rosemary, thyme, carob trees, lavender and sage.
€1.3 million investment planned
Developers estimate the total investment at €1.3 million.
They expect the site to reach full capacity during July and August, while winter occupancy could remain around 20%.
The business could create up to five permanent jobs during peak periods to support maintenance and daily operations.
Costa Blanca camping sector expands
The proposal marks the latest addition to a growing number of camping and camper tourism projects emerging around Elche and other areas of the Costa Blanca.
