Vegetable lovers, mark your calendars. The artichoke takes centre stage in Dolores this April with the return of the VIII Gastrocultural End-of-Season Festival, running from 23 to 26 April.
Expect four days packed with food, tradition and family-friendly fun, all celebrating one of the Vega Baja’s most iconic ingredients.
The event kicks off on Thursday 23 April with the official opening led by the Mayor.
The first day will also include tastings of dishes where the humble artichoke transforms into culinary magic.
Dolores Gastrocultural Festival
From Friday onwards, the programme expands into a busy celebration with:
- Gastro Gourmet Fair
- Children’s workshops
- Live showcooking demonstrations
- Gastronomic competitions
- Street entertainment and live music
- Food and wine pairings
Among the highlights are some quirky contests, including artichoke peeling competitions and tortilla contests, alongside creative offerings such as an artichoke burger event.
