Food lovers will once again have plenty to enjoy in Guardamar del Segura as the town prepares to host the 22nd Ñora Pepper and Prawn Gastronomic Week from 1 to 7 June.
The annual event (Setmana Gastronòmica de la Nyora i el Llagostí) has become one of the most established food festivals on the Costa Blanca. It attracts both residents and visitors keen to discover some of the area’s most traditional Mediterranean flavours.
Ñora Pepper and Prawn Gastronomic Week
The festival shines a spotlight on two ingredients that are closely linked to Guardamar’s culinary heritage: the ñora pepper and the local prawn.
Throughout the week, participating restaurants will create special menus. The menus will feature these products, combining traditional recipes with modern Mediterranean cooking.
Five restaurants taking part
This year’s event will feature specially prepared menus from five local
restaurants:
- Club Náutico
- El Jardín
- Hotel Eden Mar
- Jaime Legend
- Origen
Each restaurant will offer its own interpretation of the festival’s signature ingredients, highlighting the versatility of both the ñora pepper and Guardamar prawns.
Visitors can expect Mediterranean-inspired dishes that focus on fresh local produce and seasonal flavours.
More than just great food
The Gastronomic Week has become one of the most anticipated events in Guardamar’s tourism calendar.
