If you are planning a visit to Moraira this week to join in some fiesta fun, you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Parking in the town’s regulated blue zones is free until Sunday 19 July as part of the patron saint fiestas.

At the same time, one of Moraira’s most popular annual events returns, with the Tomato Growing Competition taking place on 17 and 18 July.

Free parking during the fiestas

Teulada-Moraira has suspended paid parking in Moraira’s blue zones until Sunday, making it easier for people to enjoy the celebrations.

As a result, drivers can use regulated parking spaces without buying a ticket.

Mayor Raúl Llobell said the council decided to repeat the initiative after it proved successful during Teulada’s patron saint fiestas earlier this year.

He added that free parking helps improve mobility during one of the busiest weeks of the summer while encouraging more people to take part in the festivities.

Tomato competition returns

The Cap d’Or Neighbourhood Association will host its 17th Tomato Growing Competition and “Ti Pepe Mansana” Memorial workshop on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July.

The event welcomes anyone who has spent the summer growing tomatoes and wants to compare their harvest with those of other local growers.

On Friday, participants can register and display their entries between 17:00 and 19:00 at the Cap d’Or Neighbourhood Association headquarters on Calle Almacenes, 9.

Later, at 19:00, José Manuel Bisetto will give a free talk on tomato cultivation, quality and seed saving at the Moraira Yacht Club Social Building.

Judging and prizes

The competition continues on Saturday from 10:00, when the judging panel will taste and assess the entries before announcing the winners.

After the judging, organisers will invite all participants to stay for breakfast.

The competition will award prizes for the best-tasting tomato, the largest tomato and the most unusual tomato.

Benimarco Fiestas in honour of Sant Jaume

The Benimarco district will celebrate its festivities in honor of Sant Jaume from July 23 to 29, 2026.

This traditional celebration is shared by the municipalities of Teulada Moraira and Benissa, which join together each year to pay homage to the patron saint and apostle of Benimarco in an atmosphere filled with traditions, religious ceremonies, and popular activities.
