The Costa Blanca is getting a touch of movie magic. Alicante and the wider Valencian Community will serve as filming locations for Disney’s upcoming blockbuster Tangled.

Regional president Carlos Mazón confirmed the news and highlighted the economic and creative impact the project could bring.

The Valencian Community will act as the national coordination hub for the film. Meanwhile, crews will film across several locations in the region and throughout Spain over the next eight months.

The project is already in pre-production. In addition, director Michael Gracey, known for visually ambitious films, will lead the production. The cast will also feature Teagan Croft, Milo Manheim and Kathryn Hahn.

Lights, camera…… Costa Blanca meets Tangled

According to Gracey, Spain offers the perfect creative setting for the story. At the same time, regional leaders have stressed the importance of attracting productions of this scale.

As a result, the arrival of Disney is expected to create jobs, support local businesses and boost international visibility for the area.

The Costa Blanca hosting a project like Tangled strengthens the position of the Valencian Community as a rising filming destination.

With its mix of coastline, historic towns and varied landscapes, the region continues to attract major studios. In turn, this helps build its reputation as a go-to location for film and television.
