Residents of Arenales del Sol will soon be able to do their weekly supermarket shop without leaving the resort.
Eroski has confirmed it will open the area’s first supermarket in July, bringing a major boost to local services for both residents and holidaymakers.
The new store will operate seven days a week and create nine direct jobs.
A long-awaited service for Arenales del Sol
The arrival of a supermarket has been one of the most common requests from residents for years.
Until now, people living in Arenales del Sol have had limited options for larger grocery shops and often needed to travel to nearby areas for everyday essentials.
The new Eroski aims to change that.
Elche mayor Pablo Ruz visited the site this week alongside Councillor for Rural Districts Pedro José Sáez to see how work is progressing.
Ruz described the project as an important step forward for a resort that has seen significant growth in both population and tourism in recent years.
Thousands of products available
According to Eroski Franchise Director Alberto Cañas, the new supermarket will stock between 5,500 and 6,000 products.
Shoppers will find all the usual supermarket departments, including fresh food, groceries, household goods and personal care products.
The store will open every day of the week, making it easier for residents and visitors to access essential items throughout the year.
Cañas said Arenales del Sol is a strategic location for the company and believes the supermarket will provide an important service for the local community.
New jobs and investment
The project will also create nine direct jobs.
Franchise owner David Santiago said the aim is to provide a local service that meets the real needs of both residents and visitors.
As Arenales del Sol continues to grow, the addition of a major supermarket is expected to improve everyday convenience while strengthening the area’s commercial offering.
