Golfers on the Costa Blanca will have the chance to support a worthy cause this June as Altea Club de Golf hosts a charity tournament in aid of the Red Cross.
The event will take place on Sunday 14 June, with all funds raised going directly to Cruz Roja Altea and its community support programmes.
Golf and fundraising combined
Players will compete over 18 holes, with the tournament starting at 09:00 and expected to finish at around 14:30.
After the competition, participants will be able to take part in a charity raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses.

Supporting important community projects
Cruz Roja Altea says the money raised will help fund a variety of local initiatives.
These include food assistance programmes, activities for children, support for vulnerable families and projects aimed at people with disabilities.
Speaking at the launch, Cruz Roja Altea director Inmaculada Martínez thanked both the golf club and local businesses for their support.
She highlighted the importance of corporate social responsibility and the positive impact these collaborations can have on the local community.
More than just a golf tournament
Altea Club de Golf director Pedro Barber explained that the club, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, regularly supports local causes through community events.
He also noted that many club members are foreign residents, giving charities such as Cruz Roja an opportunity to raise awareness among the international community.
Barber expressed hope that the event will become an annual fixture.
“I hope this is the first of many Cruz Roja tournaments,” he said.
Everyone can help
Altea councillor for Social Welfare Anna Lanuza praised both Cruz Roja and the golf club for their commitment to helping local residents.
She highlighted the important role charities play in supporting people who may otherwise fall through the gaps.
Even those who do not play golf can still support the initiative by spreading the word or contributing to the fundraising effort.
As organisers pointed out, the ultimate goal is simple: helping those who need it most.
