The Alicante Association for the Fight Against Cancer (AACC) will hold a charity walk in Calpe on Sunday, 26 October.
The event is to mark World Breast Cancer Day on 19 October.
The aim is to raise funds for support programmes for patients and families, and to promote prevention and research.
Calpe’s walk for breast cancer: Small print
The walk will start and finish in Plaza Mayor, beginning at 12:30, with registration costing €10, which includes a commemorative T-shirt. Race numbers can be purchased in advance at the AACC headquarters in Calpe, located at C/ Mayor 16. The office is open Mondays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00, and on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 13:00.
On the day of the event, participants can collect their race numbers from Plaza Mayor starting at 11:30.
An afternoon of fun in Calpe
After the walk, there will be a afternoon of music featuring live performances from Sweet Soulz. There will also be a bar and free hot chocolate for everyone at 17:00. A raffle will also be held with prizes for those whose race numbers are drawn.
Pablo Enríquez, the provincial president of AACC, said that events like this one “show the province’s unity in the fight against breast cancer.” He added that “every step represents our shared commitment to prevention, research, and support for those going through this illness.”
