Following the success of the free Spanish language course last January, Torrevieja Town Council is running it once again.
Registration has already opened and will continue until 22 September, with the course commencing in October this year. Enrolled students can expect to come away with basic Spanish language skills. While not a certified course, the content has been designed to enhance the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish. This applies to both everyday and business situations.
Free Spanish Course for 90 students
The course syllabus includes both written and oral learning and will be available to around 90 foreigners wishing to improve their Spanish language skills. To maximise the learning opportunity, these will be split into six groups. Four of the groups will be aimed at beginner level, and the other two at a more intermediate level. As was the case last year, the course will take place at the facilities of the Be Magic academy in Torrevieja.
Each group will receive 32 hours of tuition, which will be spread over eight weeks. Classes will be offered in three blocks: 0900 to 1100, 1200 to 1400, and 1600 to 1800 hours.
Register in person or online
Those interested in registering can do so, either in person by completing a registration form or online using a digital signature through the electronic office. If attending in person, you will need to go to the Torrevieja Town Council or the peripheral Town Council of La Mata in Plaza Gaspar Perelló. Registration is open between 0830 and 1330 hours, and there is no need to book an appointment beforehand. However, to be eligible, you must be both a resident and be on the padrón in Torrevieja.
This course proved to be very popular last year, with a total of 196 applicants being received. The 90 selected students came from a whole host of countries, including Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine.
This demonstrates just how diverse the population of Torrevieja really is, with thousands of international residents choosing to live there.
