Calle Sol in El Campello is once again bursting with colour and creativity.
For the twelfth consecutive year, neighbours have come together to decorate their street for the Moros y Cristianos festival. A community effort that’s become the street’s most loved traditions.
This year’s theme is a showstopper: an artisanal mascletà (firecracker display) made entirely from recycled materials. The handmade installation has already become one of the most photographed spots in town. Visitors stop to admire its detail, snap photos, and enjoy the festive spirit.

Calle Sol: 12 years of neighbourhood creativity
For over a decade, the residents of Calle Sol in El Campello have worked side by side in the run-up to the festival. They plan, design, and build new decorations every year. Decorations are always imaginative, always sustainable. Old cardboard boxes, paper, and plastic are given a second chance!
The preparations start weeks before the festivities. Neighbours collect reusable materials, assign tasks, and spend evenings and weekends working together. The process has become as important as the final result.
A tribute to the festival’s loudest tradition
This year’s mascletà theme pays tribute to one of the most iconic sounds of Valencian festival culture.
Located near the town centre, the decorated stretch of Calle Sol will remain decorated for visitors throughout the fiestas.
