Les Fonts de l’Algar is a natural spot just 15 km from Benidorm and only 3 km from the centre of Callosa d’en Sarrià, on the road to Bolulla.

In 2002, the Valencian Government officially recognised it as a Protected Wetland.

A walk here takes you along a 1.5 km path beside the Algar River, whose name means “cave” in Arabic. Along the way, you’ll see waterfalls, clear pools, and springs that come straight out of the rocks. These fresh pools were once thought to be healing. There are also ancient water systems, such as dams, canals, and irrigation ditches, that are still in use today.

Visitors have access to a tourist information office, toilets, first aid, picnic spots, a small campsite, and an arboretum. There’s also a DinoPark nearby and several local restaurants where you can try traditional dishes.

You can buy tickets at the entrance on the day, but only if there’s still space. To be sure you get in, it’s best to buy tickets online at least a day before your visit at lasfuentesdelalgar.com. The website doesn’t offer same-day bookings.

The timetable depends on the season.

Amenities

No glass bottles or alcoholic drinks are allowed inside. You can bring your own food, but it must be eaten in the picnic area. In the summer months (July and August), food isn’t allowed near the water. Instead, it must be eaten in the picnic area at the top part of the site. If you are bringing food during those months, use Entrance 2, which is close to the picnic zone. Lockers are available.

This picnic area has tables, shade, toilets, a vending machine, and a play area for kids. Just outside the park, there are more places to eat, another picnic spot, and a campsite that includes barbecues and a small bar.

Parking

Parking is free near the Tourist Office, about 700 metres from the main entrance. Another car park is 100 metres before that. Most nearby restaurants also have their own parking spaces for customers. Private parking areas are available too, usually costing around €5.

Dogs are welcome from 16 September to 14 June, as long as they are on a lead, their waste is cleaned up, and they don’t go in the water. From 15 June to 15 September, pets are not allowed in the park.
