Spain’s tourism industry is proving to be one of the country’s biggest success stories, driving economic growth that outpaces many European neighbours, including Italy, Germany, and France.

Tourism has bounced back strongly since the pandemic and is set to perform even better in the years ahead. Forecasts suggest Spain’s economy will grow by 2.5% in 2025, with tourism alone expected to make up around 12% of national GDP, a huge share by European standards.

Spain’s appeal shows no sign of fading. Iconic cities such as Madrid and Barcelona remain major draws, offering world-class art, rich history, and buzzing nightlife. Elsewhere, coastal destinations like the Costa Blanca, Mallorca, and the Canary Islands are seeing steady growth, thanks to their golden beaches and stunning scenery.

Part of Spain’s winning formula is its balance of affordability and quality. Compared to other Western European nations, Spain offers better value for accommodation, food, and entertainment, without skimping on charm.

This mix of culture, climate, and cost-effectiveness has made Spain one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Eurozone.
