Christmas in Elda: Enjoy the parades

The first parade, featuring Christmas elves, will be held on Friday 19 December. From 17:00 to 19:00, the elves will be travelling along Calle Pablo Iglesias and Gran Avenida.

The second elf parade will take place on Saturday 20 December from 11:00 to 13:00, following the Las Tres Avenidas route along Alfonso XIII, Olimpiadas and Filipinas. During this event, balloons bearing the image of the shopping district will also be handed out.

Later that same Saturday, from 18:30 to 20:00, the much-loved “Fantastic Journey” parade will bring Disney characters to the streets. The procession will start in Plaza Castelar, continue along Juan Carlos I and Antonino Vera, and finish in the Plaza Mayor.

Jurassic fun in Elda

On Friday 26 December, at the same time and along the same route, dinosaurs will take centre stage in the “Jurassic” parade, much to the delight of younger visitors.

Councillor Silvia Ibáñez explained that the aim is to fill the streets with atmosphere, colour and life, encouraging residents and visitors alike to enjoy the city and support Elda’s shops.

She added that the objective of the programme is twofold: to bring joy and animation to the streets, while also creating a festive shopping environment that invites people into local shops.

According to the councillor, the Disney parade was a great success with both children and adults last year, while the dinosaur parade promises to once again capture the imagination of younger audiences.
