Parking your car in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has just become a little easier, and it comes with a view!

After several months of preparatory work, a new public car park has opened at the entrance to the municipality via the Carretera Vella de Xàbia.

Thanks to its elevated position, it offers wide views across vineyards, the sea and surrounding mountains. The vistas explain the car park’s name: Parking El Mirador (the Viewpoint Car Park).

This is the sixth parking area created by the current local government over the past seven years. This brings the total number of public car parks in and around the town centre to twelve.

The new car park provides 67 spaces for cars, including two adapted for people with reduced mobility. There are also two electric vehicle charging points, one of which is linked to an accessible space. In addition, the site includes parking for seven motorcycles, bicycles and personal mobility vehicles (PMVs).

As part of the work, the existing pavement has been extended as far as the cemetery, improving pedestrian access and safety. The car park can now be reached on foot from the town centre in just a few minutes. This reinforces its use as a park-and-ride option rather than just somewhere to stop the car.
