It seems autumn in Alicante is still hitting the snooze button.

As we head into the final days of October, the province is set to enjoy another weekend of sunshine.

According to Spain’s national weather agency, AEMET, the coming days will bring calm, settled weather, with daytime highs of 25ºC to 28ºC along the coast, and possibly higher in some areas of Valencia and Alicante on Sunday.

Autumn in Alicante: Warm days, mild nights

After last week’s mini heatwave, with temperatures topping 32ºC and even a few tropical nights, this weekend won’t be quite as intense, but it will still be toasty. On Thursday, Orihuela hit 28.2ºC, while Almoradí, Albatera, and Crevillent all hovered around the mid- to high-20s.

Despite a brief spell of easterly winds and even a touch of frost inland earlier in the week, the mercury remains well above average for this time of year.

Weekend forecast

Friday, 31 October: Mostly sunny skies with just a few high clouds. Light westerly breezes, turning moderate near the coast by the afternoon. Temperatures will stay steady, with slightly cooler nights in southern areas.

Saturday, 1 November: Another bright and sunny day with some passing clouds. Expect similar conditions, light westerly winds and warm, stable temperatures.

Sunday, 2 November: A bit more cloud cover to start the day, especially inland, with a small chance of early showers. Later on, a few light showers could appear in northern Alicante and southern Valencia, though most areas will stay dry. Highs could reach 28ºC on the coast before dipping slightly at the start of the new week.

Inland towns will see highs around 23ºC to 24ºC, dropping by a couple of degrees on Monday. Along the coast, expect lows of 14ºC to 17ºC, perfect for those late-night strolls by the sea.

Still beach weather (mostly)

Despite being almost November, it looks like beach season isn’t quite over yet. Expect plenty of sunseekers making the most of the balmy temperatures, Benidorm still has lifeguards on duty.

So if you are planning to soak up some rays at Postiguet or San Juan this weekend, leave your jumper at home. Autumn might be on the calendar, but summer clearly hasn’t got the memo.
