The town of Dolores has launched its third National Easter Photography Competition, inviting photographers to channel their creativity while capturing one of the area’s most important traditions.
The competition also aims to showcase Semana Santa as a cultural and tourist attraction, both in Dolores and across the Vega Baja del Segura.
Focus on Semana Santa in Dolores
The competition welcomes both professional and amateur photographers aged 18 and over, of any nationality, provided they live in Spain.
Participants must take all photos within the municipality of Dolores during Semana Santa 2026.
The goal is to capture the atmosphere, detail and character of the celebrations, with a strong emphasis on creativity, originality and connection to the town.
Dolores: Easter photo competition
The total prize fund stands at €500:
- First prize: €350
- Second prize: €150
Each participant may submit up to three photographs. Judges will assess them individually, although each entrant can win only one prize.
Entries must not have received awards in other competitions. Participants may not use photomontage, and organisers will reject any images created fully or partly with artificial intelligence. Basic edits such as exposure, contrast, colour adjustment or cropping remain acceptable.
Photo requirements
Images must meet the following criteria:
- Size: 46.66 × 70 cm (vertical or horizontal)
- Format: JPEG (maximum quality, JPG file)
- File size: maximum 10 MB
- Colour: RGB or sRGB
- Resolution: 300 ppp
- File name: must match the title of the photograph
Organisers may request the original file (RAW or similar) if required.
How to enter
To take part, participants need to register through the Ayuntamiento de Dolores, either in person or online via the official website.
The deadline for entries is 13 April 2026:
- Online submissions: until 23:59
- In person: until 14:00
Organisers will not accept any entries received after these times.
