Better still, you do not need to travel far. Across the Costa Blanca, easy walking spots sit just minutes from towns and cities. One of those quiet treasures lies tucked away in Ibi at Font Negra.
Hidden corner: Ibi’s Font Negra
The Font Negra is a small natural area located in the Barranc d’Ibi,
surrounded by woodland and shaded by tall trees. After periods of rain, the area becomes even more attractive, with a small waterfall, a stream and shallow pools forming along the ravine.
Despite its peaceful setting, the Font Negra is surprisingly close to the town centre and even sits next to an industrial estate. Once you arrive, however, it quickly feels far removed from busy daily life.
This spot has long been popular with locals, especially during Easter, when families traditionally gathered here to celebrate the Mona de Pascua outdoors.
An easy walk for all ages
One of the main attractions of the Font Negra is how accessible it is. You can park near the industrial estate close to the CV-805 road, on the way between Ibi and Tibi.
From there, a simple path leads to a set of steps that take you down to the picnic area and the spring. The walk is short and suitable for all ages, making it ideal for families, including those with young children.
There is also an option to park slightly closer, although the final section is along a dirt road.
Small but cute picnic area
At the bottom of the steps, you will find a small picnic area shaded by tall trees. There are only a couple of tables, but plenty of space.
If the tables are occupied, there are also several shaded spots nearby where you can spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic.
From the picnic area, the path continues along the ravine. It is an easy and short walk, suitable for children, leading to the Font Negra itself, where you will find the spring, small waterfall and pools.
