Alfaz del Pi will once again host International Day on Sunday, 25 October.
Enjoy the fun at the esplanade of the Casa de Cultura. The event is a lively and multicultural celebration that has become one of the town’s most recognisable events since it began in 2007.
From 11:00 to 17:30, visitors can enjoy a full day of music, dance, and international flavours. The event brings together residents from all over the world who now call Alfaz del Pi home.
Over 50 performances from across the globe
This year’s line-up includes more than fifty community associations, representing around 30 different countries. Performances will include traditional folklore, a showcase of national dances, and live music and choirs. With traditional costumes being proudly showcased, expect a vibrant explosion of colour, movement and sound on the main stage.
A whole host of countries will be taking part spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. This includes Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, India, Moldova, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Ukraine, and Venezuela… to name but a few.
Alfaz del Pi International Day: A reflection of cultural diversity
Councillor for Relations, Patrick de Meirsman, said “Currently, more than 50% of the inhabitants of l’Alfàs del Pi come from outside of Spain, which makes cultural diversity one of our main strengths.”
He went on to emphasise how this event directly aligns with the town’s values, stating the festival is: “a reflection of the municipality’s commitment to integration and coexistence.”
Fun and activities for all ages
Alongside the performances, there will be plenty of free activities for families. Children can enjoy inflatables, face painting, traditional games, and a photo booth with costumes from around the world. There will also be a 360-degree camera to capture the moment and take home a souvenir of the day.
Visitors can explore stands from different countries, each offering a look at their history, culture, and cuisine. Tastings of traditional dishes will give everyone a chance to enjoy the flavours of the world without leaving Alfaz del Pi.
