Alfaz del Pi will once again host International Day on Sunday, 19 October.
Enjoy the fun at the esplanade of the Casa de Cultura. The event is a lively and multicultural celebration that has become one of the town’s most recognisable events since it began in 2007.
From 11:00 to 17:30, visitors can enjoy a full day of music, dance, and international flavours. The event brings together residents from all over the world who now call Alfaz del Pi home.
Over 40 performances from across the globe
This year’s line-up includes more than forty performances, featuring traditional dances, live music, and cultural displays from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, India, Moldova, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
Poland will also take part for the first time, adding an extra touch to an already colourful programme.
Alfaz del Pi International Day: Most special so far
Councillor for International Residents, Martine Mertens, said this year’s event “promises to be one of the most special so far.” She described International Day as “a great celebration of integration,” where people of all nationalities can share their culture and traditions while learning from one another. Mertens also highlighted the growing number of community groups taking part, which makes the event richer every year.
Fun and activities for all ages
Alongside the performances, there will be plenty of free activities for families. Children can enjoy inflatables, face painting, traditional games, and a photo booth with costumes from around the world. There will also be a 360-degree camera to capture the moment and take home a souvenir of the day.
Visitors can explore stands from different countries, each offering a look at their history, culture, and cuisine. Tastings of traditional dishes will give everyone a chance to enjoy the flavours of the world without leaving Alfaz del Pi.
