If you are currently looking to buy on the Costa Blanca, you may have already noticed one thing, there are fewer homes on the market.
New data from Idealista shows that the number of homes for sale dropped by 11% in the final quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Costa Blanca: Fewer homes available
In Alicante, the drop is smaller than in many other areas, but it is still noticeable.
- Alicante city: -6%
- Costa Blanca in general -5%
This means buyers are dealing with reduced supply, even in a market that remains very popular with both Spanish and international buyers.
A national trend
The same pattern is being seen across most of Spain.
Only a small number of major cities have seen an increase in available homes:
- Madrid: +10%
- Málaga: +10%
- Valencia: +8%
- Sevilla: +6%
- Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Barcelona: +2%
Everywhere else has seen a drop, in some cases quite sharply.
The biggest decreases include:
- Zamora: -46%
- Huesca: -39%
- Segovia: -38%
- Palencia: -35%
- Ourense: -34%
- Burgos: -32%
Even large markets have been affected, with Bilbao down 24% and San Sebastián down 15%.
What it means for buyers
With fewer properties available, competition can increase, especially in areas like the Costa Blanca where demand remains strong.
However, there are early signs that high prices in some cities may be starting to push buyers out of the market. This could reduce pressure on supply over time, although it is still too early to confirm any clear change in trend.
