If you are after a day out that’s packed with water, thrills and a fair bit of splashing, Aqualandia in Benidorm should be top of your list.

The park is home to fifteen water rides of all shapes, speeds and splash levels, including Europe’s highest standing slide and the world’s tallest capsule slide.

The very young ones haven’t been forgotten either. They’ve got their own special spot called Adventureland, where everything’s made just for them, mini slides, splashy water throwers, ball pools, and even a maze to get lost in.

One of the most popular spots in the park is the wave pool, which is about as close as you can get to the beach without getting sand in your shorts!

Each ride has a sign at the entrance with everything you need to know, including the height restrictions. Most slides require you to be at least 120 or 125 cm tall.

You can bring your own food and drink, but no cans or glass are allowed. The park has plenty of picnic areas. Of course, if you’d rather let someone else do the cooking, there’s no shortage of options inside. From burgers and pizzas to ice creams, waffles and even a barbecue area.

The park is kitted out with everything you could need; lockers (starting from €7), showers, changing rooms, a first aid station, places to get tickets and info, and a cash machine.

Where is Aqualandia?

Aqualandia is in the Sierra Helada Natural Park, right in Benidorm, postcode 03503. If you have got any questions, head to the website aqualandia.net,  or if you want to ring ahead, the number is (+34) 96 586 01 00.

Check before you go, but the park usually opens the last weekend of May and closes the last weekend of September. Depending on when you go, the park is open from 10:00 to 19:00 or 20:00. Rides close thirty minutes before the park shuts.

Top tip: if you are going in the summer, keep an eye out for discount tickets. They tend to pop up in petrol stations, shops and bars on the Costa Blanca.

How to get to Aqualandia

How to arrive by car? If you come either from Valencia or from Alicante on the AP7 motorway, you must take the Benidorm Levante Callosa d’en Sarrià exit. After the toll booth, go over the first roundabout and turn left at the second roundabout. There, you will see a petrol station. Go straight on the national road up to the first traffic lights and then turn right. Once you are here, you only have to go along the Penetración del Rincón de Loix Avenue up to the traffic lights (leaving the Benidorm Palace on your right), there you must turn left and go straight on until you reach our car park. Parking is free and along the route you will find signs to show you how to reach Aqualandia.

If you decide to come by train from another Spanish city, the best option is to arrive at the ADIF station in Alicante, and there to get onto the TRAM which connects Alicante and Denia. Aqualandia recommend getting off at the ‘Benidorm’ stop, in the city centre. There, you can take the line 1 of city buses to arrive at the park. You can take it at the stop which is placed in front of the station itself. The buses going to the park are easily distinguishable and in the summer run every 20 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 40 minutes at weekends.
