The Valencian Community has plenty to smile about this quarter, as it continues to prove itself one of Spain’s most dynamic regions for job creation.
According to the latest Labour Force Survey (EPA), the region added 37,500 new jobs in the last quarter alone, the second-highest figure in the country, and leads Spain in annual employment growth.
The Regional Secretary for Employment, Antonio Galvañ, said the results confirm that the region “is firmly on the path of job creation and continues to open new opportunities for its residents.” The total number of people in work has now reached 2,451,000, the highest since records began.
Industry, women, and young people drive the growth
Much of this success comes from strong industrial growth. Employment in the industrial sector rose by 17,500 people, up 4.2%, bringing the total to 413,600, the best figure since 2018.
Women’s employment has also reached new heights. The number of women in work climbed by 1.4% this quarter to 1,112,300, marking the highest figure ever recorded. “The Valencian Community has seen the largest quarterly rise in female employment in Spain,” Galvañ noted proudly.
Younger workers are also entering the labour market in greater numbers. Employment among those under 25 rose by 16,000 to reach 164,700, the third-highest level in sixteen years.
Valencian Community job creation: Steady optimism
While overall employment continues to rise, a slight uptick in unemployment has been attributed to the seasonal end of summer jobs, a regular occurrence at this time of year. Even so, the regional government insists that the overall trend remains positive and that the labour market is showing steady, sustainable growth.
The Valencian Community now stands shoulder to shoulder with Andalusia as one of Spain’s top regions for job creation, strengthening its position as a key engine of economic growth in 2025.
