The Costa Blanca continues to rank among the most active areas in Spain for foreign home sales.
In 2025, Alicante Province recorded 54,700 property transactions, setting a new record.
Strong demand from overseas buyers drives much of this activity. International purchasers account for around 40% of all home sales in the province.
Alicante leads foreign property purchases
Data from the College of Registrars shows that Alicante recorded the highest number of international buyers in Spain during the final quarter of the year, with 5,672 purchases.
Together with Málaga Province, the two areas represent 35% of all foreign property purchases nationwide.
Most international buyers do not rely on mortgages. Around 80% complete purchases without bank financing, which reflects strong purchasing power.
High demand for luxury homes
Foreign buyers also drive demand for high-end properties across the Costa Blanca.
According to Idealista, interest in luxury homes remained high throughout 2025. Buyers showed particular interest in large apartments with five or more bedrooms.
Many of the most viewed properties are located in popular coastal towns such as Jávea, Dénia, Altea, Moraira, Calpe and Alicante.
These destinations attract buyers looking for space, sea views and a Mediterranean lifestyle.
Costa Blanca towns: National rankings
Several Costa Blanca locations rank among the most searched areas in Spain for luxury homes.
- Jávea ranks fourth
- Alicante ranks sixth
- Dénia ranks ninth
Only cities such as Marbella, Madrid and Barcelona attract more interest from international buyers than Jávea.
Out of 31 cities in the national ranking, 10 are located in Alicante province, underlining the area’s importance in Spain’s luxury property market.
Who is buying on the Costa Blanca?
Buyer preferences vary by nationality:
- British buyers focus on Jávea, with Dénia and Orihuela also popular
- German and French buyers favour Dénia
- Italian buyers prefer Alicante
Interest from United States buyers is also growing, with Alicante city ranking among their top choices.
