Beyond its beaches and coves, El Campello hides several walking trails where you can discover another side of the Costa Blanca.
Surrounded by small mountain ranges and quiet countryside, the municipality offers a variety of routes for hiking, cycling or simply enjoying the outdoors.
One of the most popular options is the Les Puntes de Gosàlvez trail, a scenic walk that combines peaceful landscapes with fantastic views of the Mediterranean.
The Les Puntes de Gosàlvez trail
This trail forms part of the SL-CV 93 local hiking route, which crosses one of the most interesting natural areas in the municipality.
The walk covers around 4.4 km, with an elevation gain of about 128 metres.
Most people complete the route in around one and a half hours, although it can take longer if you stop to enjoy the views.
Overall, it is considered moderately easy, making it accessible for most walkers.
Where the walk begins
The route starts in the Ramellat area, next to the Colegio Fundación Antonio Bonny. Here you will find an information panel with a map of the trail and a small parking area.
From this point, the walk begins along a marked forest track that soon leads to the first directional signpost.
Highlights along the route
As the path climbs gradually, the landscape begins to open up. Along the way you will reach Casa de Xima, a small building located on a flat section of the trail.
From here you can already see the road leading to the nearby village of Aigües, while the main route continues uphill towards the south.
Shortly afterwards, you reach a signposted junction that leads to a small hill and the well-known Caseta de Caçadors. This is one of the most recognisable landmarks along the route.
A natural viewpoint over the Costa Blanca
This section offers some of the best views along the entire trail. After a short climb to the top of the hill, walkers are rewarded with sweeping views of the coastline.
On clear days you can see El Campello, Alicante, the iconic Castillo de Santa Bárbara and even the distant Cabo de Santa Pola. The surrounding mountain ranges and Mediterranean coastline create a spectacular backdrop.
It is no surprise that the area is often described as a natural viewpoint over the Mediterranean.
Continuing the walk
After enjoying the scenery, the trail continues south until reaching the Caseta de Moyano, a small structure once used during reforestation work in the area.
From here, hikers can either return along the same path or continue the route in a circular direction before eventually returning to the starting point.
A good option for family hiking
Because of its manageable distance and moderate terrain, the route is also suitable for family hiking trips.
Although the trail is not suitable for pushchairs, it is generally easy enough for children who are used to walking.
The Caseta de Caçadors area is a particularly good spot to stop for a snack while taking in the views.
