Spain has sharpened its flight punctuality, and its two major carriers, Iberia and Vueling, are leading the charge.
According to the August 2025 Cirium On Time Performance Report, Iberia has climbed back into the world’s top 10 most punctual airlines, while Vueling has secured the title of Europe’s most punctual Spanish carrier.
With record numbers of tourists heading to Spain each year, the government has made reliable air travel a top priority. And now, thanks to improvements across the aviation sector, travellers, whether flying in for a beach break, a business meeting, or a football match, can expect to land on schedule.
Iberia and Vueling lead the way
Iberia nabbed ninth place globally, clocking a punctuality rate of 79.11 percent in August 2025. The airline, known for its polished service and extensive international network, continues to be a key gateway for visitors arriving in Madrid and Barcelona. Meanwhile, Vueling, Spain’s champion of budget travel, is showing that low-cost does not have to mean late. With an impressive record for on-time performance, the airline has become the go-to for both business and leisure travellers hopping between Spain’s favourite destinations, from Barcelona and Madrid to Seville and the Balearic Islands.
