A little help with September spending is on the way for Benissa residents, with a new shopping voucher campaign offering up to €100 to spend in participating local businesses.

The Bono Consumo Benissa 2026 ‘Arranquem el curs’ (Benissa Consumer Bonus 2026 ‘Back to School’) campaign runs from Monday 14 September until Saturday 3 October.

How much can you get?

Anyone aged 18 or over who was registered on the Benissa padrón by 1 September 2026 can apply.

Each person can download up to four vouchers worth €25 each, giving a maximum discount of €100.

There is an important catch, although it is a straightforward one. You need to spend at least twice the value of the voucher.

For example, using one €25 voucher requires a purchase of at least €50. If you use the full €100 allocation, you will need to spend at least €200.

You can combine several of your own vouchers in a single purchase. However, vouchers belonging to different people cannot be combined.

Each voucher is personal and linked to the holder’s DNI or NIE.

When can you get the vouchers?

The campaign begins on Monday 14 September, when the dedicated Bono Consumo website will become available.

Residents will be able to request their vouchers online, while Benissa Council will also provide an in-person option for people who cannot or prefer not to complete the process digitally.

The source information does not yet give the location or opening times for that face-to-face service.

The vouchers can then be used at businesses taking part in the campaign until Saturday 3 October.

Helping Benissa businesses too

The scheme effectively splits qualifying purchases between the customer and the campaign funding. A resident spending €50, for example, can use a €25 voucher and pay the remaining €25 themselves.

That gives residents a useful discount while ensuring the full value of the purchase reaches participating Benissa businesses.

The timing is deliberate. September can bring plenty of extra household costs as schools restart and normal routines return after the summer.

Benissa commerce councillor Roberto Box said the council wants to make the start of the school year easier for families while ensuring the money also generates business for local traders.

Mayor Arturo Poquet said supporting local commerce brings benefits across the municipality.

The campaign will inject more than €212,000 into the scheme, with residents able to start claiming their vouchers from 14 September.
