I can barely totter to the bar in a pair of heels these days, but Christian Roberto López Rodríguez makes it look effortless, even when sprinting backwards in stilettos.

The Spanish Guinness World Record addict has just beaten one of his own titles by legging it 100 metres backwards in high heels, clocking in at a blistering 16.55 seconds.

His previous best was a sluggish (by his standards) 20.05 seconds, set on Spanish TV show La Noche De Los Récords.

The rules weren’t exactly forgiving either: stilettos had to be at least 7cm high, with tips no wider than 1.5cm.

Rodríguez isn’t just a one-trick pony, though, he has got more than 80 Guinness World Records under his belt. To name just a few: the fastest 400 metres in clogs (1 minute 1.38 seconds), the fastest 100 metres in flip-flops (12.10 seconds), the quickest mile while balancing a pool cue on one finger (5 minutes 52.30 seconds), the speediest 100 metres on a space hopper (29.91 seconds), and even a rapid-fire 100 metres with an egg balanced on a spoon in his mouth (17.21 seconds). Oh, and he’s also belted out 50 metres backwards in swim fins in just 8.82 seconds.

Could you even make it to the nearest panadería in a pair of stilettos? And, just for fun, why not try going backwards?
