Dance fans, get ready for a treat! Villajoyosa is hosting the award-winning production Sempere by Asun Noales on Sunday 5 October at 19:00 at the Teatre Auditori la Vila Joiosa.
Tickets cost €11, or €9 with concessions, and can be bought online at vivaticket.es, at the theatre box office (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 17:00–20:00; Tuesday, Thursday 10:00–13:00), or one hour before the performance.
Who is Sempere?
Sempere is inspired by the work of artist Eusebi Sempere and won the award for Best Dance Production. The piece explores movement, light, vibration, and dynamism, with Noales using Sempere’s art as a kind of score for the choreography.
The result is an abstract journey where bodies interact in three-dimensional space, brought to life by a talented cast.
The “Escena Premiada” tour aims to bring prize-winning shows from the 2024 IVC Valencian Performing Arts Awards to towns across the region.
By doing so, it makes contemporary dance, often seen as niche, more accessible, celebrates Valencian creativity, and gives audiences a chance to experience award-winning productions outside the big cities.
