Elche’s much-loved street festival ‘Elx al Carrer’ is back, celebrating its 17th year with two weekends of culture, colour, and creativity.

The event runs on 12, 13, 19, and 20 September, bringing performances and workshops to the city’s streets and squares.

Councillor for Youth, María Bonmatí, described the festival as “one of the most important events for young people, filling Elche’s most iconic spaces with magic, art, and culture.”

This year’s programme includes over 30 activities, taking place in well-known spots such as Plaza del Congreso Eucarístico, Plaza de Baix, Eres de Santa Llucía, Plaza del Centro de Congresos, Glorieta, Parque Municipal, and Hort de Baix.

For the first time, the Traspalacio area will also join the celebration.

Festival president Cristina Navarro explained that the line-up features both local and national artists. Expect a mix of theatre, dance, live music, circus, acrobatics, breakdance, poetry, and hands-on workshops. Families with children will find plenty to enjoy, especially on Saturday mornings.
