Alicante has launched a new campaign encouraging residents to support neighbourhood shops ahead of Father’s Day.

The initiative, titled “Lo bueno lo encontrarás en el comercio local” (You will find the good things in local shops), aims to boost sales and highlight the value of buying locally.

The council is working with local business associations to promote the campaign across the city.

Campaign focuses on local retailers

The campaign uses posters and digital content to reach residents. Organisers will share the material on social media, the council website and through local media.

The message encourages shoppers to buy Father’s Day gifts from local retailers and support small businesses in their neighbourhoods.

Prize draw for shoppers in Carolinas

The Pla-Carolinas traders’ association has launched a special promotion for the event.

Customers who shop in participating businesses in the Carolinas area can enter a prize draw.

The association will award three shopping vouchers worth €50 each.

To take part, shoppers need to fill in their details when making a purchase. The association will announce the winners on Monday 23 March through its social media channels.

Municipal markets: Open on Wednesday

As Father’s Day is a public holiday in the Valencian Community, the council has authorised the early opening of several municipal street markets.

The markets will open on Wednesday 18 March from 07:00 to 14:00, one day earlier than usual.

The affected markets are located in:

  • Babel
  • Benalúa
  • José Manuel Gosálbez–Teulada
  • Carolinas

The markets will provide the same services and facilities as on their usual trading day.
