It’s that time of year again! Don’t miss Santa and his reindeers when they make a pit stop in Alicante.

If you feel the city of Alicante getting a bit more sparkly, you are not imagining things. The Christmas season is settling in, and one of the liveliest corners will be Plaza Sénica.

This is where Santa sets up his temporary Spanish base of operations. From Saturday 29 November at 12:00, his doors will swing open and the children of Alicante can pop in, say hello and hand over their very important letters before Christmas Eve.

Book your slot to see Santa Claus in Alicante

The council has again decided to save parents from long queues by offering free online appointments. Bookings for a visit to Santa are now available on the Town Hall website. Once you are on the site, you will see the list of times and you can pick the slot that suits your young letter writers best.

Plaza Sénica will not only be home to Santa. A small fair for children will set up next to the house. The fair opens on 30 November from 17:00 to 21:30. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays it will welcome visitors from 10:00 to 14:30 and again from 16:00 to 21:30.

During the main holiday period the fair becomes even more generous with its hours. From 21 December to 7 January it will run every day from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 21:30. Plenty of time for children to enjoy a ride or two, and for grown ups to pretend they are not tempted to join in.
