Rates and reductions

The most noteworthy aspect of the new contract is the reduction of blue-zone rates for residents and local businesses by almost 50%, while in the orange zone (the beach area) the reduction for residents and business owners is 22%.

The hourly rate in the blue zone for residents, previously €0.40, will now be €0.25, and in the orange zone it will decrease from €0.45 per hour to €0.35 per hour. However, the general blue-zone tariff will rise from €0.85 per hour to €1.10 per hour, and the orange zone from €0.95 per hour to €1.45 per hour.

These changes aim to benefit local residents, ensuring that those living in Calpe pay less for parking in regulated areas.

Time limits

Parking time limits are also being updated. The maximum stay in the blue zone was previously two hours and in the orange zone three hours. Under the new rules, this increases to three hours in the blue zone and six hours in the orange zone.

Other changes

The green zone, which was only regulated in the mornings, is being integrated into the blue zone and will be abolished. The mixed orange zone will also be removed. After these changes, the blue zone will have 920 spaces and the orange zone 1,135 spaces.

Parking meters that do not accept credit cards will be replaced. Payments can also be made using the free ElParking app or on the website.
