The Villena Municipal Market is fully prepared for its Christmas fun. The decorations are already up and the Nativity scene is in place.

The festive programme includes activities for all ages and a raffle for a Christmas hamper worth €1000 for customers who shop at the various stalls.

This year the Nativity scene inside the market has been expanded. It now occupies a corner and can be viewed from two different sides.

Villena Christmas Market Workshops

The market workshop will host several activities. So, on Friday 19 December there will be two gastronomy workshops for children from 17:30 to 19:00. In addition, on 13 December in the morning the La Yayica Market stall will offer a free Christmas pastry workshop with tips on how to make Turrón, the classic festive treat.

The same space will also host the Gastroscience workshop on 12 December for adults. This session will focus on one of the most traditional Christmas ingredients, table grapes.

Live market broadcast

To bring extra life to the market, Cope Villena MQR will broadcast live on 20 and 27 December from 11:00 to 12:00 with the programme Your Shopping at the Municipal Market. In addition, from 12:00 to 14:00 DJ Pepe will take over with music and entertainment. And, on 24 December the traditional Christmas concert by the Ruperto Chapí Society will take place.

This year the Market Merchants Association has organised a raffle for customers who visit the Christmas stalls. The top prize is a gift basket worth €1000 and there are three extra prizes of fruit baskets worth €50 each.

A festive excuse to do the shopping locally if ever there was one.
