On Sunday 15 February, La Nucía will once again lace up its trainers for a cause. The town is set to host its 15th Charity Cancer Walk.

The event aims to raise funds for the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and Asociación Anémona, a local self-help group supporting women with breast cancer in the Marina Baixa area.

La Nucía Charity Cancer Walk

The charity walk follows a five-kilometre cross-country route from the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano to the CEM Captivador. Participants will set off at 10.30 from the Muixara Sports Hall car park. Organisers have planned the route for all ages and kept the level of difficulty low.

The event is free and open to everyone. Walkers can take part at a relaxed pace, with volunteers providing refreshments along the way.

Those who prefer not to walk can catch a return bus from 11.00 so they can still join the activities at the finish. From 11.00, the Agencia Valenciana de Salud will host children’s workshops at the Captivador centre. The aim is to promote cancer prevention and healthy habits. Organisers will also offer inflatables and entertainment for younger visitors.

Raffle with local prizes

At midday, organisers will hold a prize draw at the CEM Captivador, with gifts donated by 122 local businesses from La Nucía and the Marina Baixa area.

Raffle tickets cost €3 and are available from members of the La Nucía Cancer Association, Anémona volunteers, or on the day of the event. All proceeds will go directly to support cancer patients and fund research.
