There is still time to start planning a costume if you fancy joining one of the liveliest events in Dolores this September. The town will hold its Desfile Multicolor (Multicolour Parade) on Saturday 19 September as part of the Patron Saint Festivities.
Rather than simply watching from the roadside, residents and visitors can take part. Individuals and groups can enter the competition, with prizes covering everything from costumes and floats to choreography.
Five categories to enter
Dolores has announced five competition categories for this year’s
parade:
- Best Float
- Best Individual Costume
- Best Group Costume
- Best Choreography
- Most Entertaining Group
A judging panel will assess the entries as the parade makes its way through the town.
The council has not yet published the full route or further details about the event. It plans to release that information shortly.
Sign up by 11 September
Anyone who wants to take part must register before Friday 11 September, so there is just over a week to get an entry organised.
Registration takes place in person at the Dolores Tourist Office.
The council will also publish the full competition rules and parade route on its municipal website.
The Desfile Multicolor forms part of the town’s 2026 patron saint festivities and is designed to get local groups, families and individuals involved rather than leaving all the entertainment to organised performers.
With floats, group costumes and choreography all included in the competition, entrants have plenty of scope to get creative before the parade rolls through Dolores on 19 September.
