Housed in the historic 18th-century Gravina Palace, MUBAG offers a fascinating look at Alicante’s art and history.
After major restoration, the palace has been transformed into a great museum dedicated to artists connected with Alicante.
The permanent exhibition, called “The 19th Century: The Collection in a New Light,” features over 80 works, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative art by artists such as Antonio Gisbert, Joaquin Agrasot, and Emilio Sala. These pieces reflect the social and artistic changes of 19th-century Spain.
Besides the permanent collection, MUBAG hosts temporary exhibitions and offers cultural and educational activities.
