Monòver is getting ready for its popular Fira de la Verema (Wine Fair), and it’s shaping up to be one of the cosiest events of the season.
Do you like wine? If the answer is yes, or even “well, I’m willing to taste a few just to be polite”, then the town has the perfect weekend lined up for you.
The fair began three years ago and has now become the perfect warm up to the Santa Caterina Fair in November. Its purpose is simple: celebrate local products, honour Monòver’s wine-growing heritage, and keep the town’s traditions bubbling away.
This year’s fair runs from 21 to 23 November in Plaça de la Sala and the nearby streets. Enjoy traditional decorations, exhibitions, children’s games, live music, and plenty to see, taste, and do.
Monòver’s Wine Fair: Entertainment
There will be plenty of live music to enjoy:
- Saturday, 12.30 – Seven Beats performing popular covers in Plaça de la Sala
- Saturday, 18.00 – DJ Antonio Javier
- Sunday, 12.00 – The Marroch Company performing “Trópico”, a contemporary dance show, at the Ágora of the Casa de Cultura
- Sunday afternoon – Perversió bringing rock and metal classics in Valencian back to Plaça de la Sala
Wine Tastings at the Kursaal Fleta
- 22 November, 12.00 – Wine and local product tasting by the Culture and Tourism departments. Price: €6
- 22 November, 19.00 – Tasting of Alicante wines, in collaboration with Alicante D.O. Price: €6
- 23 November, 12.45 – “Wine Tasting in English” with Bodegas Ortigosa, featuring three wines. Price: €20

Monòver’s Wine Fair returns in style: Cultural activities
- Saturday, 22 November, 11.00 – Guided tour of the Museum of Arts and Crafts. Price: €5, registration required
- Friday, 21 November, 20.00 – Opening of the “Cianotipias” exhibition by the Monòver Photographic Group at the Kursaal Fleta
Keeping local traditions alive
Júlia Tortosa explained that Monòver’s Wine Fair was created to give more visibility to a key part the town’s identity: wine production. It connects perfectly with the town’s heritage and brings local wineries into the spotlight in the heart of Plaça de la Sala.
