Do you fancy a late-night wander around some of Elche’s museums, gardens and cultural spaces? More than 15 venues will stay open until midnight on Saturday 26 September for the city’s third Noche en Blanco (White Night).
From 18:00 to 00:00, visitors can choose from guided tours, theatre,
concerts, talks, demonstrations and family activities.
Everything is free, although some activities require advance booking because places are limited.
There are also several new venues to explore this year, making the evening a good opportunity to discover parts of Elche that you may not normally visit.
More than 15 places to explore
New additions to the 2026 programme include the Molí del Real, Casa de la Festa, the Moors and Christians Association Museum and Hort del Gat.
At the Molí del Real, children can take part in activities connected with water, while other venues across the city will host their own events throughout the evening.
One of the more unusual activities will take place at the Basilica of Santa María, where firefighters will stage a demonstration showing how they would respond to a fire at the historic building.
There will also be a discussion about the origins of Elche’s famous Palmeral and the restoration work at Hort del Gat.
Legends, theatre and a museum mystery
Anyone who enjoys the slightly stranger side of local history can join a route exploring legends around Elche city centre.
Families have plenty to choose from too, including children’s theatre and activities at several of the participating venues.
Museums are also joining forces for Fuera de lugar (Out of Place), which turns a visit into something of a cultural detective game.
Objects will swap their usual museums and visitors will have to work out which pieces do not belong in their temporary surroundings.
The idea behind Noche en Blanco is not simply to keep museums open later.
Elche wants residents and visitors to explore its cultural heritage in a different way, with activities spread across the evening rather than a conventional daytime museum visit.

All of the activities are free, but some have limited capacity and require advance registration, so it is worth checking the individual event before setting off.
