Elche has rolled out the red carpet this week for two international journalists.

One from The Guardian in the United Kingdom and another from the French magazine Le Courrier de L’Atlas.

The journalist from The Guardian spent time exploring Elche’s rich culinary traditions, learning about the journey of the city’s famous dates. From the palm groves to the table, discovering how the dates are used in local dishes. They also sampled Elche’s much-loved rice recipes, both in the heart of the city and across its surrounding districts.

Meanwhile, the Le Courrier de L’Atlas journalist focused on the city’s most iconic treasure, the Palm Grove. Their visit delved into the history, traditions, and ongoing efforts to preserve this UNESCO World Heritage Site for future generations.

Elche goes international

These visits are part of Elche’s continued push to raise its international profile, particularly in key markets such as the United Kingdom and France. By welcoming the global media to experience the city first-hand, Elche aims to share its culture, heritage, and Mediterranean charm with a wider audience, one story at a time.
