Dénia is getting ready to set the table for one of the most anticipated food fiestas of the year. The Dénia D*na Gastronomic Festival returns on 27 and 28 September.
The event has now firmly established itself as a highlight for anyone who loves Mediterranean cooking, culture, and a good splash of creativity.
Now in its eighth year, the festival is more than just a line-up of tastings and chef demonstrations. Food here rubs shoulders with music, dance, literature, sculpture, and visual arts.
Dénia’s D*na Gastronomic Festival just got extra special
This year’s event is extra special, as it also marks the tenth anniversary of Dénia’s title as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. To celebrate, there’ll be a dedicated space for chefs from UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network, who’ll showcase how food is both heritage and future all rolled into one delicious bite.
Festival director Pepa Cano calls D*na “almost spiritual,” claiming it “feeds not just the stomach, but also the heart and soul, alongside a healthy dose of Mediterranean pride”.
This year, the organisers are going all out: two culinary stages, international chefs, and hands-on workshops. You can also enjoy an inclusive exhibition by families of people with intellectual disabilities, boat trips, live music and much more!
