Calling all Costa Blanca runners. Lace up and get ready for a December packed with races across the coast. Several local marathons and shorter distances are waiting for you. So, have a look, and see which one fits your stride.

Villa de Aspe Half Marathon

Head to Aspe for the Villa de Aspe Half Marathon. The 39th edition of this traditional sporting event will take place on 21 December 2025 and includes the Half Marathon, 5K, and 11K categories.

The race will start at 09:30 on Avenida Tres de Agosto, next to the Municipal Sports Hall car park, instead of the usual Avenida de Orihuela. And, the change allows for a route that avoids blocking access points to the town and provides more parking for participants.

Each runner will receive a panettone, a T-shirt, and a Finisher medal for completing the Half Marathon. The 5K follows a single-lap circuit, sharing three kilometres with the other categories, while the 11K features a mixed route with part of the course through town and the rest outside. The Half Marathon consists of two laps of the route.

Registration for the Villa de Aspe Half Marathon is now open.

Alicante San Silvestre

The festive running season continues in Alicante with the San Silvestre Race on Friday, 26 December 2025. The race starts at 19:30 from the Rambla de Méndez Núñe.

The 4.5 km race welcomes runners of all levels, from experienced athletes to casual participants looking for a festive challenge.

Registration costs €5, plus administrative and banking fees. Participation is limited to 2,500 runners.

Mutxamel Christmas Race

Mutxamel is getting ready for a festive finish to the year with its Christmas Marathon on Sunday, 28 December 2025. The race starts at 18:00 on Avenida Carlos Soler, in front of the Town Hall.

This popular event attracts both experienced runners and festive enthusiasts. So, participants can run through the heart of Mutxamel while enjoying the Christmas atmosphere!

Registration is free, but places are limited to 800, so early sign-up is recommended.

Albacete San Silvestre

Albacete will celebrate the New Year with the San Silvestre Race on Wednesday, 31 December 2025.

The 5 km course is suitable for all levels, from competitive athletes to those enjoying a festive jog.

The Albacete San Silvestre has become a popular tradition, combining the excitement of a local race with the spirit of New Year celebrations. Whether running or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a fun and memorable way to say goodbye to the year.

Crevillente San Silvestre

Crevillente is preparing for its San Silvestre Race on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, starting at 17:30.

Runners will tackle a 10 km official course over three laps, suitable for both serious competitors and those enjoying a festive jog. The route winds through the town.

So, will you join the fun? The Crevillente San Silvestre is a well-loved tradition that brings the community together. And, whether running or cheering from the sidelines, it promises a great start to the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Santa Pola San Silvestre

Santa Pola will mark the end of 2025 with its popular San Silvestre Santapolera Race. The event takes place on Tuesday, 31 December.

Children’s races begin at 16:00, with the main adult race starting at 17:30. The event is open to all who can complete the course. Registration  is capped at 1,200 participants, 800 for adults and 400 for children.

All registration fees are donated to the NGO Asociación Cielo de Colores Santa Pola. So, enjoying the fun means you are also supporting people with cognitive and/or physical diversity. Runners will receive Santa hats, medals for younger finishers, and an accreditation certificate with finish time and photo, available online. Registration is now open.

At the end of the race, two Christmas hampers will be raffled, and trophies are awarded to the first three men and women in the general category. And, just before you head off to New Year celebrations, participants can enjoy refreshments.
