Are you looking for some weekend fun? San Miguel de Salinas will be rolling out the colour and confetti on Sunday 15 February as the town will host its annual Carnival celebration.
The event is designed for families and friends. It is also perfect for anyone who enjoys a good excuse to dress up and join in the fun.
From 17:30, the town will begin to come alive. Carnival festivities will take over the streets. Throughout the afternoon, Plaza de la Libertad will act as the main meeting point.
One of the standout moments will be the costume parade. It will make its way along Calle 19 de Abril. Meanwhile, the Plaza de la Libertad will host a range of circus-themed games and challenges. These will be suitable for all ages. In addition, Batucada Fénix will provide live music throughout the afternoon.
Music and humour will also play an important role in the celebrations. This will be thanks to a performance by Chirigota Los Picoesquina. As the afternoon progresses, the festivities will build towards one of the most anticipated moments of the day. This will be the election of the King and Queen of Carnival 2026.
Food has not been forgotten. From 12:00 until 22:00, a selection of food trucks will be available. They will offer a wide variety of options to suit all tastes.
Finally, the Town Hall is encouraging everyone to take part. Residents and visitors are invited to come in costume.
