Cocentaina is putting the final touches on preparations for the Fira de Tots Sants, which takes place from 31 October to 2 November.
What began as a small local fair has grown into one of the Valencian Community’s most important cultural and economic showcases.
Declared both a Site of Cultural Interest and a Festival of International Tourist Interest, the Fira proudly preserves its medieval roots. It was founded in 1346 by royal decree of King Peter IV of Aragon, known as Peter the Ceremonious. Nearly seven centuries later, it continues to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and exhibitors from across Spain each year.
Cocentaina’s Fira de Tots Sants: Exhibitions and heritage routes
At the heart of the celebrations stands the Palau Comtal, Cocentaina’s historic landmark, which again serves as the main exhibition venue. This year’s highlight is Llúria. Lords and Ladies of the Land, dedicated to Admiral Roger de Llúria and his ties to the fair’s early days. The display brings together archaeological finds and original documents from museums around the province.
Visitors can also explore exhibitions such as Lighthouses of Croatia, Mauthausen: Silent Death, and Chalice of Hope. These are three thought-provoking shows reflecting on heritage, memory, and spirituality.
The cultural route extends to other key sites. These include the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, Casa de l’Art, the Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of El Comtat, and the Church of El Salvador.
Music, theatre and magic
Performing arts take centre stage in the 20th edition of Palau a Escena, featuring more than thirty theatre, dance and music performances. Families will once again enjoy the Petit Palau Màgic, presenting eighteen magic shows led by Mag Hugo.
Among the weekend’s highlights are a concert by Andreu Valor on Saturday, 2 November. Enjoy the spectacular closing performance Un batec, mil emocions (“One Beat, a Thousand Emotions”) by La Fam Teatre, rounding off three days of culture, history and celebration.
Music, food and festive energy
No Valencian festival would be complete without music and food, and the Fira delivers on both fronts. The Fira i Festa concert series will feature free performances. Meanwhile, the Sol a Sol area will transform the gastronomic zone with live tributes to Estopa, The Beatles, and local bands.
