A taste of Bavaria is coming to Alicante this week, with 11 days of beer, live music and entertainment at the city’s bullring.
Oktoberfest opens at Plaza de Toros de Alicante on Thursday 8 October and continues until Sunday 18 October.
Entry is free, with the venue taking on a German-inspired atmosphere for the occasion, complete with beer, games, live bands and a touch of Tyrolean style.
Live music every evening
Music forms a major part of the programme, with performances covering rock, indie, pop and international hits.
The announced live shows run from 20:00 to 22:00.
Banda Coartada gets things underway on Thursday 8 October with a mixture of rock and indie hits.
On Friday 9 October, Banda Two Backs takes over with indie rock from the 1970s and 1980s.
Saturday 10 October brings Banda Camelot and a selection of Spanish and international indie music, followed by Banda Moyo with international pop on Sunday 11 October.
A resident DJ provides the music on Monday 12 October.
More bands for the second weekend
Following a few days without announced performances, live music returns on Thursday 15 October.
Banda Conecta2 will play pop hits before Banda Play Grnd switches to international rock on Friday 16 October.
On Saturday 17 October Banda Índigo takes the stage with international pop rock.
Banda Coartada then returns for the final night on Sunday 18 October, bringing the festival to a close with another evening of rock and indie hits.
