Good news for travellers on the Costa Blanca. Ryanair has launched two new routes from Alicante-Elche Airport to Germany, expanding connections for the summer season.

The new flights began on 1 and 2 April, with direct routes to Friedrichshafen and Saarbrücken in German

New routes to Germany from Alicante

The new destinations strengthen links between the Costa Blanca and southern Alemania:

  • Friedrichshafen in Baden-Wurtemberg
  • Saarbrücken in the Sarre region

Ryanair will operate two flights per week on each route as part of its summer 2026 schedule.

The airline says the new connections aim to offer more travel options at low fares, while continuing to grow at Aeropuerto de Alicante-Elche.

New Casablanca route also launches

It is not just Ryanair expanding. Royal Air Maroc has also launched a new route between Alicante and Casablanca.

The new connection started on 1 April and will operate three times per week:

  • Wednesday
  • Friday
  • Sunday

The new route aims to strengthen links between España and Marruecos, while improving international connectivity from Alicante provincia.

Boost for tourism on the Costa Blanca

The new routes come as Alicante-Elche Airport enters the busy summer season. Despite global uncertainty and rising fuel costs linked to tensions in Iran, airlines are continuing to expand.

The Casablanca route is also expected to support travel ahead of the World Cup in 2030, which will be hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal.
