Wine lovers have a date for the diary next month as Albir Wine Lover returns for its fifth edition, bringing together wineries, local food, live music and DJs for an evening in Albir.

The event takes place on Friday 4 September from 19:00 until 01:00 at Parque de Los Eucaliptos and follows a successful 2025 edition which attracted around 2,000 people.

Albir Wine Lover has grown considerably since its launch and now brings wineries and food businesses together for one of the area’s main wine and gastronomy events.

Wineries from across Spain

Despite the name, Albir Wine Lover isn’t simply a wine tasting.

Wineries from different parts of Spain will take part alongside local producers, food companies and restaurants, giving visitors an opportunity to sample a range of wines and food in one place.

The event also promotes local produce and businesses connected with the area’s growing food and wine scene.

Alfaz del Pi has developed its links with wine tourism in recent years and became the first municipality in the Marina Baixa to join the Alicante Wine Route.

The route promotes wineries, restaurants, accommodation and other businesses connected with the province’s wine culture, including wines produced under the Alicante Protected Designation of Origin.

Live music and DJs

The evening will combine the wine and food stalls with entertainment throughout the event.

Iván y los Terribles will perform live, while DJs will continue the music during the night. Organisers have also planned prize draws.

There will be a dedicated area serving soft drinks and alcohol-free options.

The main event finishes at 01:00, but anyone who wants to continue the evening can head to the official after-party at ZAWA.

Tickets cost €20 in advance

Advance tickets cost €20 until 3 September.

Anyone buying a ticket at the entrance on Friday 4 September will pay €25.

With around 2,000 people attending last year’s event, organisers say capacity is limited and expect another busy evening in Parque de Los Eucaliptos.

Albir’s growing connection with wine tourism

Albir Wine Lover also reflects a wider push to establish Alfaz del Pi as part of Alicante province’s wine and gastronomy scene.

The municipality’s membership of the Alicante Wine Route connects it with an industry that stretches from the vineyards and wineries of the Vinalopó to producers elsewhere in the province.

For visitors who may know Albir principally for its beach, restaurants and international community, Albir Wine Lover offers a rather different way to spend a late-summer Friday evening.

And with wine, food and live music running from 19:00 until 01:00, there’s plenty of time to explore what’s on offer.
