Torrevieja is gearing up for a Christmas that promises to be anything but dull. More than 40 events will fill the streets of Torrevieja and La Mata, bringing festive cheer to every corner of the city.
The celebrations begin on Thursday 11 December with the annual decoration of local shops. The Department of Commerce will brighten up shopfronts by handing out Christmas poinsettias to businesses in Torrevieja and La Mata.
They will also distribute 30,000 recycled bags, all personalised, to encourage residents to keep their Christmas shopping local.
The city is also hosting the 22nd Christmas Window Display Competition, with more than 20 shops taking part. Expect plenty of sparkle!
Christmas in Torrevieja: Packed programme
From 11 December to 5 January, both residents and visitors can enjoy a full programme of cultural, musical and family friendly activities. Here are some of the highlights:
- 20 December
Christmas Afternoon from 12:00, filling the pedestrian streets around Concepción and Darblade with festive cheer. - 21 December
Christmas Drone Show with displays at 18:30 and 20:00 on the Juan Aparicio promenade. 
23 and 24 December
Santa’s House in Torrevieja and La Mata with letter drop off, entertainment and a few surprises.- 23 December
Grand Santa Claus Parade at 18:30. The parade will begin at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre and finish at the Municipal Theatre, featuring snowmen, unicorns, elves, fairies and of course Santa himself. - 26 December
Opening of the synthetic ice rink in Plaza Encarnación Puchol in La Mata. Free entry until 1 January. - 27 December
Oh Marlene concert at 22:00 in Plaza de la Constitución. - 30 December
Children’s New Year’s Eve race in La Mata at 11:30.
Torrevieja Port Night New Year’s Eve race in the afternoon in Plaza de la Constitución. 
31 December
Children’s New Year’s Eve celebration at 12:00 in Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the traditional New Year countdown and midnight chimes.- 3 and 4 January
Royal Encampment with the Three Kings collecting letters in Torrevieja and La Mata from 16:30 to 19:30. - 5 January
The grand Three Kings Parade at 16:30, bringing the 2025 festive season to a close.
A boost for the city
Councillor for Festivities Rosario Martínez has described this as “the most complete programme so far”, created for all audiences and with strong support for local businesses, which remain essential to Torrevieja’s social and economic life.
The City Council continues its commitment to extending the tourist season and creating a city residents feel proud of, while encouraging visitors to return each year for a memorable Torrevieja Christmas.
